The different types of consumable water

Drinking is obvious, our body is composed of water. It is the main constituent of the human body. The average amount of water contained in an adult organism is about 65%, a value that corresponds to approx. 45 liters of water for a person of 70 kg.  It is a function of the corpulence : the leaner a person is, the greater the proportion of water in his body. But also age : the older the tissues age and become dehydrated, the more the amount of water in the body decreases, the water being replaced by fat.

The water concentration of the body varies from one organ to another, from 1% in the ivory of the teeth to 90% in the blood plasma. Besides blood, the organs richest in water are the heart and brain.

Tap water: water generally drinkable depending on the country, with more or less pH, between 6.5 and 9 (a pH less than 7 is acidic, above it is basic or alkaline), and a high ORP due to the chlorination of the water to make it drinkable, or an ORP of approx. +100 to 600mV.

Definition of ORP: from the English term Oxidation Reduction Potential, ORP is the oxidation-reduction potential also called redox or redox potential. It reduces the oxidation of the body causing diseases and aging. It is expressed in mV (millivolts). When the ORP is positive (+mV), the water is oxidizing, when the value is negative (-mV), it is antioxidant and therefore a potential health benefit.

Ionized water: water whose pH is changed to transform it into alkaline water, a precious auxiliary to help our body fight against the hyperacidity of the body, source of many diseases. This water is produced by devices sold under different brands including those called " Kangen ", precursors in this field before hydrogenated water existed. Devices that produce ionized water aim to increase the ORP of the water by generating a little antioxidants, approx. -30 to -100mV for a pH of approx. 9. Some claim that we can reach with these devices ORP values of -300 to -400 mV of antioxidants, but be careful, to do this it would be necessary to increase the pH to 10 or 11, which would be harmful to health, alkalosis being as dangerous or even more than acidosis !

Reverse osmosis: it is a water purification system containing materials in solution by a very fine filtering system that allows only water molecules to pass through. This process mainly aims to reduce the hardness of the water thus making its use more pleasant. It protects downstream equipment, removes pollutants including nitrates and pesticide residues and improves the taste of water by removing chlorinated compounds. The reverse osmosis device is also accessible to the individual. With this system, water is drunk that is practically free of limescale, filtered of good quality and revitalized thanks to the movement printed within the device itself. Its disadvantage ? Minerals from the water are removed, both bad and good.

Hydrogenated water: this water has antioxidant properties, it reduces the oxidation of the body which results in a significant slowdown in aging. It strengthens the immune system and in doing so protects against many diseases. It is also medically proven that poor hydration weakens the body's defenses, hence the additional interest of drinking this water.

Hydrogenated water was designed in Japan and South Korea with the main purpose of combating the effects of atomic radiation and the cancers that followed, two scourges widely present in these countries and for a long time to come. Strangely, although many clinical studies have been done in Japan on the benefits of hydrogenated water, the results are struggling to reach the West.

Hydrogenated water has been medically tested in Japan as a " medicine " for diabetes, hepatitis and atopic dermatitis, an allergic pathology affecting the skin in 10% of humans, including 30% of infants. Also in Japan, it is also used as an antidepressant as well as in detoxification and detoxification treatments (alcohol and drugs). Even in the case of pathologies such as cholesterol, osteoarthritis and diabetes.  See our article medical studies'.

An experiment of Dr. Alexis Carrel, Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1912, which greatly marked his time, was to make live in vitro a chicken heart in a nutritious liquid based on active hydrogen over several decades, a time three to five times longer than the average life of a chicken. Dr. Alexis Carrel is also credited with this sentence : " a cell well hydrated, well nourished, well rid of its waste is perpetually renewed".

Some references : drinking a liter of hydrogenated water at -460mV corresponds in terms of antioxidant effects to approx. 8 liters of carrot juice. Milk from a nursing mother produces a pH of 7.4 and an ORP of -70mV. As for Coca-Cola, it has a pH of 2.48 (bleach 2.2) and an ORP of +350mV. Tap water? The WHO, the World Health Organization, recommends for tap water an ORP of +60mV, a value rarely obtained, the water being chlorinated in order to disinfect it (ORP from +100 to +600mV).

With the various hydrogenated water devices on the market, it is possible today to achieve ORP values of -100 to -640mV while keeping a pH of approx. 7 (neutral, neither basic nor acidic). And this is unlike the processes created by ionization of Kangen or Royamlife which increase the pH of the water (alkalinity) in order to obtain a negative ORP.

Some machines such as the Hydrolife " Lourdes " produce active hydrogen with an ORP of -580 to -640mV. It's extraordinary.

The Hydrolife® brand is able to distribute South Korean and Swiss products. We have given up marketing Japanese machines, as they are too expensive.

Glossary

pH : the hydrogen potential, better known as "pH", makes it possible to determine the acidity or alkalinity of a solution : below 7, it is acidic, above it is called alkaline or basic. Water with a pH of 7 is neutral. In the case of blood, acidosis corresponds to an increased acidity of the blood plasma. Acidosis is considered to occur when the arterial pH is below 7.35. Its opposite, alkalosis, occurs with a pH greater than 7.45.

ORP : from the English term Oxidation Reduction Potential, orP is the oxidation-reduction potential also called redox or redox potential. It reduces the oxidation of the body causing diseases and aging. It is expressed in mV (millivolts). When the ORP is positive (+mV), the water is oxidizing, when the value is negative (-mV), it is antioxidant and therefore a potential health benefit.
